The Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), distributed logistic aid to residents affected by flooding on the courtyard of the Cawang Urban Village Office, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, on Tuesday (2/23) afternoon.
The aid handover was conducted by Community Empowerment Head for BPBD, Basuki Rahmat, to Kramat Jati Sub-district Head, Eka Darmawan. It was then distributed to RT/RW caretakers affected by flooding in Cawang area.

"Hopefully it can be useful for handling when
disaster occurs. This aid is also for preventing the spread of COVID-19," he uttered.Besides in Cawang, he added, similar aid was also spotted in 516 RTs in five regions.
"Especially in East Jakarta, the aid is sent to Cawang, Cipinang Melayu, Kampung Melayu, Bidara Cina and Rawa Terate," he explained.
The aid distributed was in the form of 5,200 masks, 2,600 medical mask, 26 tires in the evacuation, 26 flashlights and 26 megaphones.
Kramat Jati Sub-district Head, Eka Darmawan appreciated the logistic aid distribution.
"It is very helpful for our people. Moreover, Cawang is prone to flooding from Ciliwing River," he stated.
Cawang Urban Village Head, Didik Diarjo added all of this aid would be distributed to 26 RTs spread over 6 RWs.
"Hopefully people can also help each other when a disaster occurs," he hoped.
RW 08 Cawang Chairman, Dadang said it was actually expected by the locals. It was because there were no infrastructure facilities for flood prevention.
"We'll involve karang taruna youth organizations to operate the infrastructure. We really hope this aid is for flood prevention," he hoped.
